The Omni Center, The Sierra Club, & Omni UA will host a presentation on Ozark historic trees on Wed., April 11, at 7 p.m. at the University of Arkansas Global Campus, on the Fayetteville Square, 2 East Center St.  The Earth Day presentation by two esteemed NWA naturalists–Burnetta Hinterthuer and Steve Chyrchel.

Hinterthuer, a Professor of Biology at Northwest Arkansas Community College will give a Power Point presentation on old growth and champion trees in Northwest Arkansas.

Afterwards, Chyrchel, a Hobbs State Park Interpreter will the importance of the Ozark Chinquapin Chesnut, their demise, and ongoing efforts to bring this precious indigenous treasure back from the brink.

There is no charge, but a $5 suggested donation is appreciated.  Proceeds will go to fund efforts to rescue the Ozark Chinquapin Chestnut in Arkansas. Call 582-2291 for more information.
